Actívate Media produces collaborative documentaries, engages in cultural preservation, and develops creative strategies focused on art and social change. Through weaving cultural organizing and participatory processes into our work, we develop critical storytelling projects alongside artists in the Philadelphia region and beyond.

History
Actívate has been producing projects since 2018, and more recently established this iteration of expanded programming starting in 2021.
We see the power in activating stories for social change. Actívate/Activate signifies to “make something active” (in Spanish and English respectively). In movement spaces, it alludes to coming together in community and activating a space in order to create impact.
Actívate grew out of the Founder’s 14+ years within the Philadelphia arts/media/social justice sector.
